The Sale

Google gives their employees free massages.  At IMU, a t-shirt company based in Ann Arbor and founded by Michigan Alum, David Merritt, the employees must volunteer8 to 10 hours a month.  It’s part of IMU’s greater mission of “spreading happiness and changing perspectives…to have true compassion for others.”  Not only do they embody many of the altruistic values of Thanksgiving, they’re also giving great deals for Black Friday.

If you think you’ve heard the name “David Merritt” before, you’re right.  He played for the University of Michigan basketball team as a walk-on.  And he was good. Very good. I recommend you read the story behind his decision to do so – it’s definitely an inspiring one.

His company, IMU or I Miss You Inc. officially launched this past September amidst much fanfare.  His collectionhas designs for bothmen and women, each with colorful designs featuring the IMU logo or an inspiring message like “Close to 6 billion people walk the Earth today. No one can be sure how many have walked it before. Even still, no two fingerprints have ever been alike. Each person is unique, special, and one of one.” Though small, it promises to expand.

The Product

And good news – they’re participating in Black Friday.  Starting Friday at 12 am, t-shirts will be marked down to $30 and under. Plus, there’s free shipping and your order will be pre-gift packaged. The sale continues as supplies last which means you might be able to get yours after Black Friday but why risk it?  You can find more details at their website.

By the way, their special ”Show ‘Em” holiday promotional video debuts Friday, November 27th, 2009, at 12 am.  Find it in the “Hop In” section of their website.  Or, you know, check it out now for some pretty regular postings from Merritt.

Don’t forget to follow Merritt on Twitter (DavidMerritt15) and “friend” the IMU Brand on Facebook.

Happy Thanksgiving!
