Chef-Owner Eve Aronoff

Located on North Fifth in the heart of Kerrytown is a hidden treasure of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Eve Restaurant, known for its French cuisine and cheerful staff features a seasonal menu hand-selected by chef and owner, Eve Aronoff, a recent contestant on Bravo’s Top Chef.

Aronoff established “Eve” in 2003 after working in the restaurant industry for more than fifteen years. A graduate from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Academy  in Paris, Eve prides herself on a particular kind of cooking, one based on bold and exotic flavors. The chef says that her restaurant has “a French style with an international menu.” Recently, the menu has featured several African, Cuban and Vietnamese dishes. Eve offers everything from Thai Barbequed Chicken to Alaskan Halibut.

The restaurant décor is just as contemporary as the cuisine: comfortable and chic. Eve Restaurant is hidden in the Kerrytown marketplace, so be careful not to walk past it. On the weekends, it’s best to make reservations, as the restaurant fills up quickly.

Not in the mood for a big meal? Not a problem! Aronoff recommends appetizers and wine. The “Cutting Board for Two” is to die for: “an array of artisanal cheeses, smoked and cured meats, olives and spliced French breads.” The chef-owner’s favorite salad? The Mozzarella di Bufala, served with local tomatoes, and pancetta croutons.

The food is amazing. The décor is unbelievable. The only downside is that the food is a little above the typical college student budget. If you are feeling adventurous I’d recommend taking a stroll to Kerry Town and supporting a local, yet nationally-renowned restaurant. With a chef like Eve Aronoff, you won’t be disappointed.
