Fully Charged: Celebrating the battery

5 August 2009 No Comment

There’s been some recent news about new government funding that will allow automakers and other noble institutions to create more efficient car batteries.  Hopefully, trickle-down theory means that eventually, ALL batteries become longer lasting.  To celebrate, here are some cool gadgets that are battery powered.

Another reason not to point in face...

If you tuned in every day during Graffiti Week and you thought the Graffiti Alley photo shoot was kickass, you’d probably be interested in checking out Halo.  It’s a battery powered spray-can with an LED light to create that rave party feeling when tagging.  One cool thing – shaking the spray-can also recharges the battery.  This and more is a concept of French designer, Aïssa Logerot.

The Cinemin - so cute!

For those of us that have spent too many nights huddled on a dorm bed watching a DVD from the tiny screen of your friend’s laptop, you might want to pre-order your own Cinemin Swivel from WowWee.  It’s a mini and portable projector that can hook up to just about any gadget you might carrying around, from iphone to laptop, and has a film-length battery life.

I would go on, but the battery of my lap-top is about to die… Real quick, here’s a little humor – Demetri Martin on: batteries.
