If there ever was an artist that sounded like summer on a cd it’s Owl City’s Adam Young.

I’ve known Adam for about two years now and I can honestly say that in real life, he is exactly the way he seems in his music – wholesome, chipper, and good hearted. Just recently signing a record deal, Adam released his first album under the label called “Ocean Eyes” on July 14th on itunes. The album will be available in stores July 28th.

Owl City has had an amazing journey through digital music. With a huge fan base prior to the record deal, it is surprising to hear that Adam never played a single live show before signing. Having been fortunate to go to his last concert on the guest list, Adam thoroughly surprised me. Usually shy and introverted, he had a very charming stage presence. I think his down to earth personality and genuine gratitude is one of the reasons people become so enamored with him. As candy coated as this seems, that’s truly what Adam’s music is – rainbows, sunny days, fluffy clouds, and picnics.

Join the movement: put his music on your ipod, roll the car windows down, and let his warm voice and happy melodies wrap around you. You can get the song Fireflies for free on itunes NOW as the single of the week. Take a sneak peak  – Fireflies – Owl City and visit the Official Site for Owl City HERE.

Wow, these guys are good. The lead singer sounds a bit like Benjamin Gibbard but with more beat-happy tunes. Great find Kristine! They’ll be in playing 2 cities in Michigan in late September, definitely worth checking out.
