Required for Entryâ„¢: Alexander Wang Designs Line of Condoms

17 February 2009 No Comment

Strapping up just became a fashion statement.

Alexander Wang has teamed up with Planned Parenthood to create a line of condoms designed with the stylish woman in mind.

The line of condoms, cleverly named ‘Proper Attire,’ features a chic packaging design by Wang, and are available in six different styles, three condoms a pack—Basic (regular), Color (colored), Dots (studded), XL (extra-large), Ultra-Thin (self-explanatory), and Assorted (Extra Large, Ultra-thin, and Studded).

Planned Parenthood approached Wang and asked him to collaborate with them on a project to make condoms more appealing to women. The goal was to make women feel more comfortable with carrying and buying condoms, and Wang loved the idea.

“I used a spare design that felt sexy, modern, and empowering; after all, women should always come first!” Wang said. Right on.

The FDA-tested Proper Attire rubbers will make their debut this Valentines Day at Wang’s Spring 2009 show. Guests will receive a complimentary package of the limited-edition condoms.

For us commoners not so fortunate to be on Wang’s guest list, don’t expect the Proper Attire Rubbers to make an appearance at UHS anytime soon.

The condoms will be sold exclusively at Thompson Hotels, but are also available online for about $6 a box, all proceeds benefitting Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

So before you cop a feel, cop a box of this “must have” accessory. After all, they’re ‘required for entry™’.
