ReWrapables

23 December 2009 No Comment

This post might be a little late. In fact, I’m really hoping that everyone is done with their Christmas wrapping. But, I stumbled across this concept and felt it necessary to share: reusable fabric gift wrap. Also known as, ReWrapables.

A company founded by Monique, she describes her invention by saying: “Each year at Christmas time, I spend hours wrapping presents only to see it ripped open and the wrapping thrown away. One day I had an idea – ReWrapables – fabric gift wrap that made it quick to wrap a present and could be reused over and over.” What a genius idea. Why didn’t I come up with this?

ReWrapable-- looks easy enough!

And reuse and reuse and reuse...

Reusable gift wrap is beneficial to many aspects of life. First, it always looks good. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a good gift wrapper. There are always bubbles in my tape, the paper is never cut to the right size, my ribbon is always crooked. Reusable gift wrap looks really easy. In fact, founder Monique explains it in six easy steps.

In addition, reusable gift wrap is environmentally friendly. Wrapping paper, because of its dye and lamination, is often not even recyclable, but you can use reusable fabric gift wrap year after year.

ReWrapables are specially designed for each individual customer, depending on the occasion, the color preference, and the size of the gift. The website is missing some important information but, after doing a bit of research, I found that a “medium” ReWrapable is about $8 and can fit a present 16″ x 16″. And, the majority of Monique’s ReWrapables are reversible and come with the option of ribbon already sewn on it, making gift wrapping a whole lot easier.

If you’re interested in purchasing one, Monique suggests you email her directly at Monique@ReWrapables.com.

Personally, I’m bummed I didn’t know about this earlier. I’m currently looking at my poorly wrapped presents, shaking my head. Santa would be so disappointed in me.
