In an effort to further familiarize readers with our staff, SHEI introduces the inaugural post from the Layout Team.  Per their words: “as a team we hope to share with you guys what inspires us in design, and in turn wee hope it inspires you guys as well.”  

To kick us off, we’re going to go BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group).  Danish designer Bjarke Ingels recently came to the Michigan Theater to discuss many of his architecture projects and his book “Yes is More,” which explains the concepts and the design process behind 30 of his works.  What makes this Ingels so inspiring is the clarity and simplicity of his concepts. In the lecture, Bjarke stated, “So recently we asked ourselves if we could invent a format that could actually tell the stories behind the projects. Maybe combining images and drawings and words to actually sort of tell stories about architecture. And we discovered that we didn’t have to invent it, it already existed in the form of a comic book.”  It is ideas like these that make us think, why hasn’t someone already thought of this before?
