Disclaimer: Chelsea Handler’s novels are not for anyone who may be easily offended by talk of one-night stands, the mass consumption of alcohol, or an infatuation with midgets.

Comedian Chelsea Handler is at it again with her newly released third novel, Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang. Handler sprang into famehood when her humorous comedy series on E!, Chelsea Lately, took off over two years ago, increasing sales of her first novel My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands published in 2005 and her second novel, Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea released in 2009. Due to being in the full swing of the school semester, I do not have much time to read anything other than the novels and other readings assigned for class, but I do plan on picking up a copy of Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang as soon as classes are over.

A recent interview Handler had with TIME Magazine gives me an idea of what to expect in her newest novel — nothing too far from the hilariously outlandish stories found in her previous novels. As the owner of Handler’s other two novels, I can almost guarantee that it will be full of funny ridiculousness that is sure to be an entertaining read.

After seeing a few episodes of her show on E! and reading her books that stay consistent with her saucy character, I became a fan of Handler, realizing that she’s not just putting on an act to fill a missing character void in female comedians. I admire Handler’s honesty and ability not only to make fun of herself in interviews and on her own talk show but also to make fun of ultra-famous celebrities.

Handler is a female comedian who has the guts to say what everyone else is thinking…and she doesn’t apologize for it. She’s a hot blond with quick-witted tongue. Even if some may find her crude humor a little too offensive, she makes it hard for one not to pay attention.
