Shoe copy-catting — is there such a thing? Posted on Hypebeast is Japanese streetwear tycoon Bape‘s (that’s “A Bathing Ape,” fool) latest “Ape Sta” shoe, which looks…strikingly similar to an old favorite (*cough*)…Converse’s immortal All-Stars.  A personal favorite, at that.

I’m interested to see what Converse – if they even catch wind of this – would think of Bape’s…less-than obvious cop of their design.  Not that shoes can’t be in the same mold of one another- but when does influence blur the line with mimicry?
