Britney's Back with her latest single, "Hold It Against Me."

Britney’s back and she’s  definitely bringing it. Her latest single, “Hold It Against Me,” premiered on January 10th and has been receiving positive feedback from all realms of the public sphere. Blogger Perez Hilton agrees that the song, although it isn’t “revolutionary,” is “a great setup single to remind everybody ‘Britney’s back.’ This is Britney’s ‘pay attention to me’ track.”

And paying attention is what everyone is doing. Whether you love Britney or hate her, most people have heard about the Dr. Luke/ Max Martin-produced club-smashing hit about getting dirty on the dance floor. The song, which is the single for her March 2011 album, has been all over Twitter and Facebook. If you haven’t already hopped onto iTunes, downloaded it, and blasted it on repeat enough times to be belting out the catchy phrases in the shower, you definitely have had to read tweets or posts about it.

Newsfeeds were filled with embedded YouTube videos from Britney fans, exclaiming their excitement about her reappearance in mainstream media for music; not baby daddy drama, weight issues, or new boyfriend updates. Britney fans all across the country were happy to hear their favorite pop princess, but what do radio station directors have to say about it?

According to MTV News, Sharon Dastur, New York’s Z100’s program director, was blown away after the first listen in December, giving her high hopes for the January premiere. “When we played it on Elvis Duran’s morning show, our Facebook and Twitter pages exploded,” Dastur said. “People are going crazy for it. They heard the leaked version and loved it, and now they’re loving the official version too. I can see it being another huge hit for her.”

Tommy Chuck, Tampa’s 93.3 WFLZ director, has been playing it at the top of every hour with great reactions. “Both on Facebook and Twitter…[they're] thanking us for playing the song, telling us how amazing she is, and all the air staff loved it,” he told MTV news. “It’s a solid single, and it’ll be a big hit for her.”

Another reason the pop electro-house single is getting so much attention is the unique section of dubstep starting around 2:20. Though some criticize her use of the simple dubstep, the current face of the genre, Skrillex believes it will cause underground music to change, and inspire others to try something different.

After the release of “Hold It Against Me”, Britney tweeted “Seriously, I have the best fans ever. I love you all so much!! Everything I do is for you! xoxo Brit.” Ah, so much love. Take a listen and let me know what you think!
