The 70′s silhouette is back.

Flared jeans – whether slim, vintage, wide, or high-waisted – are the next big thing in denim according to S/S Fashion week. Check out these cute runway looks from Rebecca Taylor and Derek Lam:

If you’re wondering where you can go to get the new look, Gap has a few selections of flare jeans, including, but not limited to: the pintucked wide leg, the faded dark wash wide leg, and the vintage two tone wash.

My favorite, though, are a pair of dark high-waisted flare jeans you can get from Forever 21. The dark wash and high waist help create a slim, elongated look. Wearing them with a loose, solid-colored t-shirt would create a very relaxed look, but you could still make it classy if paired with the right shoes. (I’d go with a pair of classy heels, weather permitting.)

Since it will be cold for a while longer in Ann Arbor, skinny jeans will probably remain as the most popular denim of choice because of the way they can be tucked into boots. But hopefully we’ll see some of these flared styles worn gracefully around campus come spring!
