Steve Jobs, 1955-2011

Imagine life without that iconic white silhouette of a bitten apple. The one projected on top of Mac computers and gracing the backs of iPads, iPods, and iPhones worldwide. On October 5th, the man behind these innovations, Steve Jobs died, but his legacy will not.

Steve Job’s fun and user-friendly products have impacted the lives of people of all ages, especially college students. Numerous apple users fill the campus from students listening to their iPods in the gym to students taking notes on their iPads or MacBooks in class. Jobs’ ability to intertwine sleekness, reliability and agility into the innovation of apple products has strongly impacted the technology world. He transformed the design of computers from heavy, dull and boxy to lightweight, shiny and sleek.

Steve Jobs paved his own way into success. He was adopted into a lower-middle class family and dropped out of his first semester of Reed College. Briefly after, he became the CEO of Apple.
