Jason Wu Set to Woo at Target
Much to the pleasure of Target fans, this Sunday, February 5th, Target’s GO International brand is debuting a 53 piece collection by Jason Wu online and in stores. The best part? The playful collection of apparel and accessories is all under $60.
Wu first became known as a designer when Michelle Obama wowed the country in one of his gowns at the Inaugural Ball. He is celebrated for a unique aesthetic, combining sophistication with sportswear and a specific attention to detail – which is all now available to the masses.
Jason Wu’s designer collections are priced in the thousands, but with Target GO International, even us broke college kids get a chance to own a piece of Wu’s high quality design.
The collection was inspired by the idea of an American girl in Paris, with “mischief in the details.” But the real muse? Milo, a mischievous illustrated black cat that is featured in the line’s campaign ads.
“I was inspired by the French New Wave films, actresses like Jean Seberg and Anna Karina,” Wu told CBSNews.com at the collection’s launch party. “That nonchalant chic, that effortless style, mixed with American sportswear.”
After looking at the full collection look book online, we can already imagine ourselves sitting at a cafe, eating a croissant, sipping a caffé au lait, wearing the white A-line spring dress. The collection is filled with patterned A-lines, mini shift dresses, high waisted skirts, and flouncy blouses, all with Wu’s signature detailing. We can’t wait to snag the classic black trench coat (SHEI is already fostering a love for the trench this season) and tailored bright red blouse. Wu states his Target collection is for the younger generations: “it’s a gift for them. … It also shows my range as a designer that I’m able to design for two spectrums of the market,” Wu stated in the same CBS interview.
The limited edition collection comes out this Sunday morning. With the explosion and popularity of Target’s Missoni line (the collection sold out that day), make sure get to a store or online right away!

Jason Wu and so many other designers are creating fabulous and affordable lines. I think its great how they are bringing their high fashion style to mainstream retailers. Can’t wait to pick up a few of his pieces!
