Fashion, Art & Whimsy

Last Sunday evening, the Magic Bag Theatre in Ferndale hosted a Dare 2 Dream benefit event entitled (fittingly) “Fashion, Art, and Whimsy.” And it was; the night was a beautiful whirl of fashion and art, in memory of Keisha MacDonald, a young aspiring model who was tragically killed in 2007 in a car accident. Sponsored by Styleline Magazine, the event included a large amount of local designers, models, artwork, along with a silent auction.

Some of the most memorable parts of the night were the dancers that accompanied the models on the stage, a moving artwork exhibit, and talented singer performances. The fashion that graced the runway was incredibly diverse, from knit-work accessories to vampire chic. There were adorable dresses and vintage outfits; modern corsets and hot Detroit tees, modeled by the ladies from Traque International Model Management Inc.

My favorite collection of the night had to be Femilia Couture’s (noted in the gallery). Organic, classy fashion at it’s best.
