Lady GaGa + Marc Jacobs = A Comic Book, Apparently

Something about Lady GaGa’s incessant need to ‘put on a show’ really irritates me.  Just because she doesn’t make the tabloids for DUIs or sex tapes like so many other stars do, it doesn’t mean that her cries for attention are any less desperate.  Imagine my ‘surprise’ when I heard she’s collaborating with Marc Jacobs on—believe it or not—a comic book.

Marc Jacobs and Lady GaGa

That’s right, there is currently a Lady GaGa comic book sold exclusively at Marc Jacobs stores.  It’s relatively easy to understand the transition from GaGa to comic book hero, considering that she already dresses like one, but it’s unclear how Marc got put into the mix.

According to Fashionista, artist Brian Einerson (who is definitely on the map solely due to this comic book) created it, and it’s going to mix fashion and humor. No one seems to have much more information on the content, though, or whether there will be more of them. The cover mentions St. John, Christian Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent, so at least Einerson knows what he’s talking about.

In any case, the comic is going for only $2, so, as Fashion Magazineso charmingly puts it, “it may be worth it, even if you really, really hate Lady GaGa.” And, oh, I really do.

  1. lol it seems everybody in fashion going comic these days… I think I like the Tim Gunn as a pseudo-Iron Man more than Lady Gaga and Marc Jacobs or Heidi Klum as a fashionista superhero. :P Seeing Lady Gaga interact with the Muppets was amusing though.

  2. i just found out that Lady Gaga is also a mezzo soprano. she really has a great voice and i love her style. .

  3. We lover her and her outgoing personality is very fitting for a comic book. We already received the Free Comic Book Day Lady Gaga comic and thought it was fairly cool. The official Fame Lady Gaga Comic #1 is set to be released May 26 2010. It will come with two different covers. We’re hoping they are a little more in depth than some of the older Kiss comics. We do not think we’ll be disappointed as the publisher Bluewater productions is top notch. Guess we’ll all have to wait and see. Regardless it is sure to be a collectors item.
