Dear Readers,

If you’re a daily visitor to our site, you may have noticed a number of changes: a newer, cleaner layout, some minor cosmetic changes, and (most excitingly!) the latest-and-greatest issue of SHEI magazine, free and available to all, on our website!

Issue 19 of SHEI is near and dear to my heart, and I’d like to thank everyone who made it happen, and for the blood, sweat and tears sacrificed to make it work. Our staff and contributors did an extraordinary job dreaming up articles and photoshoots, writing, shooting, modeling and editing, and putting together the final product that is SHEI. Their work paid off: cover-to-cover, this issue is amazing, and I’m extremely proud of it.

It was a rough task, to pick from the best of the best. Nevertheless, I’d like to share with you some of my personal favorites from issue:

If you think we're good with "Paint", wait till you see what we can do in "Notepad"!

Guess what guys – this is our 300th post! I’m thrilled because it coincides with another  important milestone.  We’ve also updated the blog (in case you haven’t noticed) and it looks totally awesome now.  Keep reading for more details. The new format is meant to bring more of a WebZine feel to the blog.  So in the future, we may refer to it as such.  Then again, “blog” has such a simple ring to it…we’ll see on that one.

Other changes include more information on our homepage, such as that widget with our twitter account (follow us! twitter.com/SHEIMagazine) and link-tools to all your favorite social media & online networking sites.  Our most popular articles are clearly displayed as well - just another way for you to spot the latest trends.

We hope these changes will make the site easier for your to navigate but also to be a more useful source for the latest in global pop culture, fashion, art & design, and more.

It’s time.  The SHEI Lit team has written and re-written articles until we couldn’t think straight as Layout begged us for more.  Fashion and Photography viewed hundreds of shots from multiple elaborate photo-shoots.  And PR has been booking like mad. That’s right – it’s SHEIFest time.

In case you haven’t been, SHEIFest is the launch party for the latest issue of the print magazine and a stellar fashion show in its own right.  And there’s a lot to look forward to this year.  Not only is it our 10th Anniversary, but we have also returned to a twice-yearly print model. 

And that’s not all.  Our issue is thoroughly themed ”Decadent”.  It may be subtle at times, but we’re leaving recession specials, self-denial, virtue, and restraint at the door in favor of luxury, gratification, vice, and extravagance.  This would be the perfect time to splurge for the VIP seating + goodie bag.

We’ll see you this Saturday, January 9th for the 10th Anniversary of SHEI Magazine at the Michigan League.  This party’s going to last from 7pm to 10pm with refreshments, dance & band performances, and of course, the Runway Show.  Tickets will be available at the door but you may want to reserve them now. Prices are as follows:

$10 Regular seating (at the door)
$14 VIP Seating (reservations; includes goodie bag, front-row seats)
$20 VIP seating (at the door)
