SHEI and Lily Grace Cosmetics: Fall Fashion Preview

Early on the morning of September 30th several members of the SHEI Magazine team glammed-up for the Fall Fashion Preview hosted by Lily Grace Cosmetics. Five fall looks were showcased including: trendy menswear, feminine military chic, layering, and elegant simplistic looks for the fall season.

Lily Grace Cosmetics, located at 306 S. Main Street, is known for luxurious skincare and makeup brands, as well as top-of-the-line beauty products. Cyndi Clark, founder and owner of Lily Grace, is a member of the philanthropy committee for the St. Joe’s (the St. Joseph Mercy Health System) volunteer group. Over 150 members from the Ann Arbor area help raise money to benefit various departments of the St. Joseph Mercy Health System each year. The committee feels strongly about their involvement in the local community. This year’s annual St. Joe’s Holiday Ball will benefit the neuroscience rehabilitation program. The Lily Grace Fashion Preview doubled as the committee’s first meeting of the fall. The high-energy atmosphere made for a fun-filled morning. Cyndi and SHEI Magazine’s Branding Director Anna Fuller collaborated on the event to provide a great local DJ, gourmet breakfast bags from Babo of Ann Arbor, and tons of free samples and prizes for everyone.

One of Cyndi’s make-up artists, celebrity stylist Nikki P, worked with the models in preparation for the show. Nikki clientele includes: Ralph Lauren, Nicole Kidman, and the Olsen Twins. Her work takes her to locations around the United States, and Lily Grace Cosmetics is one of the stops on her list. Needless to say, the makeup looks were impeccable, showcasing pops of lime and kiwi green (one of the hottest colors this fall), and accentuating the model’s high-fashion looks. Some of the featured trends included: knitwear, pattern mixing, and a stunning LBD (little black dress), all from Ann Arbor’s Alya & Co. Today Clothing, a newly opened menswear store, provided a look for the sole male model in the group of five. His look showcased a textured black paisley blazer, a sleek leather briefcase, and wingtips with emerald green shoelaces.  Cyndi has worked with the SHEI Magazine team on the last two issues released. Magazines are now available for purchase at her store.

Lily Grace Cosmetics also announced that they will be opening a spa in the lower level of the current store. Complete with facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing services, massage, and more, the grand opening in three weeks will surely be one to remember. The manicure and pedicure services include luxury, non-toxic nail polish brands. The UV-free polishes offered replaces other gel polishes that may harm the skin. The spa will hold private parties, mother-daughter events, and other get-togethers for a relaxing day out. All information concerning spa services will be posted on the Lily Grace Cosmetics website by next Friday, October 4.

SHEI would like to thank everyone that made this event possible, including: the Lily Grace Cosmetics team, Cyndi Clark, Anna Fuller and the volunteer models, all St. Joe’s committee members, Today Clothing, Alya & Co, Alex Teo, and Babo. Local Ann Arbor businesses such as those listed are helping to integrate SHEI Magazine into the community by supporting our student-run organization at the University of Michigan.
