Now that February has finally rolled around, the excitement of the new year has faded and many people are finding themselves in a rut, battling both exhaustion and heavy snowfall. One could argue that February can be considered a pretty unremarkable month (outside of Valentine’s day, that is). I beg to differ. For a beauty junkie, February is a month filled with excitement. That’s right--February is the time when lots of companies release their spring collections. After researching and analyzing a variety of new products that all beauty gurus are eager to try, I’ve compiled a list of five products and collections that you should definitely take note of in order to beat those winter blues.
- BITE Butter Cream Lipstick ($28)
These lipsticks are perfect for anyone who loves a natural lip color. The eight lipsticks in this collection are all universal nudes and neutrals, ranging from brown-toned shades to rosy pinks. The brand new formula really makes this new product special. Infused with five different aromatic butters, including lavender and shea, these lipsticks are impossibly creamy and silky.
- Bobbi Brown Brightening Bricks ($46)
Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick is a cult favorite used by beauty gurus everywhere. This spring, the brand has released a new line complimentary to the famous Shimmer Bricks—the Brightening Bricks. In four different shades, these brightening bricks are meant to be used all over the face to add a hint of color and glow to your complexion. While the Shimmer Bricks are lovely highlighters, I anticipate that these Brightening Bricks will become hugely successful as blush-bronzer combos.
- MAC x Isabel and Rubel Toledo
Every time MAC collaborates with celebrities it is a home run, and this new line is no different. Isabel and Ruben Toledo are a dynamic duo known for their gorgeous work in fashion. In their collaboration with MAC, the couple aimed to bring a taste of their fashion sense into the world of makeup. They produced three eyshadow palettes, each specializing in shades of green, blue, or purple. MAC’s new line also includes an eyeliner, a mascara, nail polish, and a gorgeous spread of deep red lipsticks.
- NARS Spring Color Collection
Spring 2015 marks the second of four “Portraits by the Artist,” which is a series of new products created by François Nars. This second round focuses entirely on the nude spectrum. Ranging from a barely-there pink to deep brown shades, NARS’s new eyeshadows, lipstick, lip gloss, and blush are bound to make noise in the beauty world. Far from boring neutrals, these shades are daring, bold, and definitely stunning.
- Stila Field of Florals Covertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Palette ($49)
Stila’s new lip and cheek stain palette is an absolutely gorgeous must-have product. The twelve vibrant colors are soft and creamy; they blend into the skin like a dream. Featuring colors ranging from a light coral to a deep burgundy, this palette covers all of the bases. The best part? This new palette will save you from constantly buying new blushes and lipsticks—every shade can be used as both a dewy cheek stain and a vibrant lip stain!
